Expo 'Do I disturb?'

Children's rights through the lens of photograpy students

In September 2021, Flemish Minister of Youth Benjamin Dalle challenged five schools in Flanders and Brussels to delve into the theme of Children's Rights. One of those schools was the Free Institute for Secondary Education (VISO) in Mariakerke, East Flanders. The students of the sixth year of photography explored how they could capture this theme visually.

The exhibition 'Do I Disturb?' zooms in on the right to a safe home (Article 27) and the right to privacy (Article 16). The students chose to photograph children and young people in their own living environment, their own safe haven, namely their bedrooms. Because we at Hanenbos are committed to the theme of Children's Rights, we are more than happy to share these excellent images with our visitors.

Our educational service Dharts designed a fun door hanger for the exhibition.
