Quality Label

Quality Label for Youth Centres – Council of Europe

Hanenbos was awarded the Quality Label for Youth Centres by the Council of Europe in 2016. As a labeled center, we are committed to promoting themes such as democracy, the rule of law, and human rights, both in our operations and activities.

This quality label is awarded at the European level to centers focusing on youth work and non-formal learning. The centers must be linked to national governments and have their own infrastructure (including catering and accommodation facilities) capable of organizing activities with youth groups. To be awarded the quality label, each center must also have its own educational team to develop (international) activities within its own profile.

The Council of Europe ensures that the values they prioritize in their European policy are reflected in the entire operation of the recognized centers. These values mainly include tolerance, accessibility, sustainability, customer friendliness, participation, intercultural learning, and social inclusion.

For more information, visit the website of the Quality Label for Youth Centres.

At the Platform for Youth Centres of the Council of Europe, international youth centers that have obtained or aim to obtain the Quality Label come together to collaborate and initiate international projects.

Hanenbos has participated in previous congresses held at the Lisbon Youth Centre in Lisbon (2016), at Destelheide in Belgium (2017), and at the European Youth Centre Budapest in Budapest (2018 and 2019), at the Marttinen Youth Centre in Finland (2020), and at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg (2023).
